EX PJ Officer Author of Book About Madeleine McCann

Paulo Cristovao, who is facing trial over torture allegations, describes how missing Maddie did not survive May 3, 2007 – the night she vanished.

His book, The Star Of Madeleine, is based on the real cop investigation. It stops short of saying who is responsible, but drops clues. He says the McCanns decided she was kidnapped without considering she may have walked out of their holiday flat.Retired inspector Cristovao mysteriously claims two of the couple’s holiday pals – the so-called Tapas Seven – are “fundamental” to discovering the truth about Maddie, four.In the preface he writes:

“For legal reasons I, as the author, cannot tell you what the truth, the reality of this case, is. I can, however, assure you that you can find it here, in the lines of this book.”

The novel ends with two fictional coppers gazing out at the Atlantic Ocean following a huge land search.

Cristovao and four other cops stand trial later this year over the case of another missing girl. He is accused of torturing her mum into a false confession of murder.

Last night Kate and Gerry's spokesman said:

“It’s a great shame that people still want to make money out of Madeleine’s situation.”

DisgustingA friend of the couple, from Rothley, Leics, added: “This man is a suspect himself, having been accused of beating up a woman to make her confess to killing her daughter.“He is hardly a reliable source. To bring out a book about Madeleine is just disgusting.”Cristovao, whose book was launched yesterday, angered the couple last year by claiming they should have been arrested for leaving their kids alone at Praia da Luz.

The Sun

What do you think of the fact that while Portugal effectively gags two people who have not been charged with any crime, with archaic Secrecy Laws, yet allows and Ex Police Chief to write and publish a lot of spurious unsubstantiated nonsense WHILE HIMSELF AN ARGUIDO, WAITING TO FACE TRIAL OVER ALLEGATIONS THAT HE PLAYED A PART IN THE TORTURE OF ANOTHER PARENT OF ANOTHER MISSING CHILD?

  • Do you think this is right?
  • Do you think this is just?
  • Do you think this is the way a country should behave?
  • Do you think Portugal should be part of the EU while allowing this kind of behaviour
  • How much longer is this going to go on for?
  • How much longer can Portugal get away with treating people so appalling in what appears to be an extreme abuse of their human rights?
  • Do you think it is time that Portugal held a full and OPEN inquiry into this bungled investigation?
  • Do you think the UK government shold now take a pro-active stance and force Portugal to act over this appalling set of circumstances?
  • What do you think? Have Your Say .

It is obvious that we are all animal lovers on this blog. I wonder if that has some bearing on why we are all here?

We had a a beauty of a kitten that was catnapped many years ago. I'm sure I saw her about six months after she went missing - had a fancy collar on, and I followed her to where she went. The house she went to had lots of cats, coudn't prove she was ours, so we had to let it go. We were heartbroken.

Anyway am off to bed now. Masses to do in the morning. So probably catch up with you later.

I just tried to post onto ST's site to give Plainwater a rev up, wrote out the best post and then somehow lost it. Dont you hate that?

I was just going to remind Plainwaters that the overiding truth in the Madeleine case is
this.

There is no evidence to support the guilt of the McCanns. If there was, they would have been charged. If there was even the possibility of evidence to support Plainwater and friends ridiculous theory, the DX would never have settled out of court.

It is not up to the pro's to prove the McCanns innocence. It is up to the PJ to prove their guilt. It would appear that they are unable to do this. Why, because the McCanns are innocent, not criminal masterminds involved in a conspiracy with the UK government.

To Plainwaters.

Happy Easter.

Have you any idea why Alsabliar's ID comes up in black and not a blue hyperlink like ours which signifies we are a Google member?

I have noted on her blog in the same page sometimes her name is hyperlinked and sometimes it is not!

I find this strange behaviour and I am sure it is because she doesn't want people viewing her profile or something like that!

She must have two accounts runnng one which she posts from and the other hyperlinked one for when she has to do somethng on the blog! I just wonder why she fels the need to do this!

Diane - read the comments about Muffy - I'm so glad that the outcome was good. Poor you - the stress you must have felt. Thank goodness your partner listened and took her to the vet.

I remember when I heard about Rosie's dog - I sat there and I cried. We had two dogs (one a black lab/german shepherd mix, the other was supposedly a white German Shepherd).

Thanks to my daughters, I have two cats (they actually belong to my daughters) but when the kids moved out, the animals stayed behind.

I think when these cats go - I won't be getting any more pets. According to Viv, I'm not fit to take care of her pet rat. Thank God for that!

Rosiepops said...

By the way Diane, Plainwaters is not worth worrying about, she is another Viv persona! I long since gave up conversing with that as soon as I discovered who she was!

dianeh said...

Rosie

Not sure, I thought if black, then it meant that not using blogger account. Posting as anonymous and typing in name.

If using her blogger account, then it should have the little orange b next to it.

Just shooting over there for a look.

dianeh said...

Rosie

Yes, Alsa has not logged in and is posting as anon, entering a name as she logs in.

I cant imagine why. She should be using her ID, as no one can copy that, makes her unique and verifies it is her.

But hey, its her blog.

Rosiepops said...

calcite

As long as the rat isn't Rat you would be OK!

You got that too from Viv? I was told that I was a bully who controlled my wife and children and killed the family dog.

Funny bloody wife I have got 6ft 3 with a full beard!

I am sure Viv said this to hurt intentionally as she knew I had just had to have my dog put to sleep, nice person isn't she? And she wonders why no one likes her?

The people that post on her blog only do so because they are scared of her and scared she will turn on them, remember they have all seen her play!

calcite51 said...

The night we had a little chat - she said we weren't fit to take care of her pet rat. I thought what an odd comment. I don't like hampsters, mice, rats, etc.

That's when I told her about my dogs (who had been pampered until they died) and I now had two cats -one who diabetic and needed two shots a day. Rnded by saying, I also had two daughters who had turned out very well.

dianeh said...

Calcite

I am a cat person really. My exhusband kept my cats, and my old border collie - Molly. I still wake at night missing them and it has been 4 years now since we separated. I left the animals with him when I moved out because I was worried about his mental state. He drank a lot but always looked after the animals. Then he wouldnt give me the dog, even though it was me that rescued her in the first place. I wanted the cats but we had one each and they had never been apart, so I left my little Maddie (full name is Maddison and she was tiny, alwasy looked like about a 9 month old kitten, even when full grown) with him. I have not seen any of my animals since I left him.

When my son is 4 or 5, we will get a cat. I can hardly wait. My daughter (3) is cat mad. Her Nanna has two kittens (about 6 months old) and as she is at Nanna's all week while I work, she is in her element, playing with the kittens all day long. She loves them even when their prickles come out and get her.

dianeh said...

Cat person if I have to label myself but I love dogs as well.

calcite51 said...

I did consider the source, Rosie. I laughed because I think it was a very stupid comment.

dianeh said...

Rosie

I did notice that Plainwaters called you MR Rosie on ST's blog. that was what made me think it was Viv as well.

Rosiepops said...

Diane

she used to run several of her IDs at the same time on the DX! I thought it was weird behaviour!

This is how she slipped up here, she forgot to post as Anon and signed off in her post as Marla and her Alsabella hyperlink came up which enabled me to trace her right back to her blog through her profile. She tried to delete her post quickly so I wouldn't see it but she wasn't fast enough and then she has the cheek to moan about those posting as Anon on her boards!

Well she can stop them it is easily done, but she wont and I think this is for the reason that she doesn't want her hyperlink name to come up!

Rosiepops said...

Anyway must turn in now very tired.

have agood day both of you, take care.

xxx God Bless Madeleine xxx

Thanks both for looking in on our site over night. lol

dianeh said...

Rosie

What did you make of that Anon posting on ST's site, making out that he/she had turned but was too scared to come out.

How ridiculous? I would just tell them what I thought, then change my id and email address (as they obviously exchange emails if they plot in private) and move to another blog.

It has a genuine ring to it, as the wording was very nice, missing all of the sarcasm of the nastier bloggers. But the situation of being scared on a blog, is just plain silly.

The people post on Viv's and Alsa's sites because they want to, they enjoy it. Not because they are scared. But if they are scared, then Viv/Alsa need look no further than where some of the anon comments are coming from. Not talking about the vile obscene ones full of fourletter words, but the questioning ones, that usually get deleted.

My kids when they were about 4 and 5 would go and visit my parents who owned a farm. One year, my younger brother got a lamb for my mother on Mother's Day (don't ask me why). This lamb was a hit with all the grandkids. He called it Lambchops - upsetted the kids until I told them that this lamb was definitely in a SAFE HOUSE. He would never/ever be killed for meat.

Both my mom and dad never like lamb as a meat. I, on the other hand, loved and still love it. From the time, my kids were introduced to Lamb Chops, they absolutely refused to eat lamb.

Goodnight Rosie, happy easter.

Calcite

I think you are able to look after the other RAT very well. My compliments on how you handle yourself.

Can I ask where the name Calcite comes from? If you dont mind.

calcite51 said...

Diane - this is the story behind calcite. We were learning a new computer system at work - calcite was the password I was given by the teacher.

I thought it was such an unusual password and when I started looking for a name on the computer - all the names I picked were already picked. So I finally typed calcite in and that one was accepted.

I've tried to go back to my first name which is Gisele but somehow Calcite always comes out.

dianeh said...

Calcite

I love lamb as well. We eat lamb a lot, as do many Aussies. We would have it at least once a week.

This week, we had a lamb curry on Sat and lamb spaghetti on Wed.

Probaly cook a lamb roast on Monday for lunch. Depends on if Mum and Dad are coming over for lunch.

My kids havent worked out yet that the fluffy little lamb is lamb that you eat, or that cow is beef etc etc. I am not looking forward to it when they do. I have raised two little animal liberationists. They have been raised from the word go to respect animals and not hurt them. When the 'bear' ad from WWF comes on about the sun bears in China, my daughter often says, "we have to let them out of the cages, dont we Mum, they are sick".

dianeh said...

I didnt think Calcite was a personal name but I thought maybe it was your street, or a town.

My daughter has just put in an appearance trying to get me off the computer so she can get on the Nick Jnr site. She would stay on all day if I let her. I make her do one educational game each time she hops on and she does this without a problem. She is learning to read from the computer, knows Google, Mail, car etc. And it is nearly lunch time, so I will have to go and feed them.

calcite51 said...

The lamb at my parents' farm eventually died (natural death)- the vet told my dad that it was because it was alone.

For a long time, he followed the dog around - when Lambchops got to big for the dog, he followed the cattle around but I don't think he was every accepted by the cows.

Diane, I love lamb too and I still have it ever so often.

dianeh said...

My daughter is looking over my shoulder complaining she is hungry and then in the next breath pointing at your disney princesses. She loves them. Has a doona cover, shirts, pj's, rug, towel, dolls. They are number 1 at the moment, taken over from little ponies and wiggles. She is growing up now. She is 3 1/2. My kids are both born in Oct, one is 3 and the other is 2. Just one of the things you have to do when you are 40 and having you first child.

That is why I divorced my first husband. He wouldnt have any kids, so I flicked him off and went to my partner. We were pregnant in two months, lost it and then pregnant again in 2 months. I have never regretted what I did. I love my kids and cant even imagine what my life is without them. I tried for 1 month to get pregnant the first time, and again the second. It took me two months to get pregnant with my son. Not bad for a 40/1 mother. One of my old work associates asked me how many IVF's I had to go through. I said, none, we did it the old fashioned way, would you like me to give you instructions.

As if I could go through IVF after being with my partner for only 2 months. Stupid woman.

Anyway I am raving now.

Its good talking to you.

Im off to make some lunch and let number 1 child on the computer for a play.

Have a good Easter break.

I might be on later, or tomorrow, not sure, we are going to go to the monster garage sale (about 20 houses in our town including the library all have a garage sale on Easter Sunday, so we go and buy junk)

Bye

Diane - I think you made the right choice leaving the hubby and going with this partner and the two kids.

People certainly don't have any problems asking personal questions do they? Would have liked to have seen her face when you replied the way you did. I think it a very good answer.

By the way, ladies - whoever came up with that picture of Madeleine in the shape of an egg? It is beautiful - you are very thoughtful and what a loving gesture.

Gina,

Why did you even forward that link? Were you trying to get the ladies here to make fools of themselves by commenting? Not a very kind joke, in my opinion.

Total crap of the kind that can be assumed as a given from the 3 arguidos.

If you thought it was genuine for one moment, you should have shown it to your CID visitors.

Gina said...

Seawitch yet again my motives have been misunderstood. I am on the fence as you know, so I did see this as a possibility although I personal think it is a hoax or someone more interested in 5 minutes of fame than the safety of a child. I just thought some of you might have not seen it and would be interested that there just still might be a glimmer of hope.

Regards my CID friends. I have not shown them anything on these sites because they would probably think me stupid for even reading most of it. However I can tell you that one of them has and still is specialising in cracking paedo rings, and as a result of that has had to watch "snuff" movies which is a traumatic thing to have to do. Do you think, whilst he is here have some R&R I wanted to ask his opinion on this. If you feel I have put it this on here for any other reason that I thought some might be interested then please ask your blog administrator to remove it as it is not worth arguing over.

Gina said...

Seawitch, I have just removed it myself, happy now. Any that may have been interested can find the link on Alsa's site

Hypocrites said...

Hi and Happy Easter everyone.

Gina, I think it is a very clever wind-up. Too much detail and many bits that don't ring true at all.

There was someone once on some site or other who did something similar -- an endless and superficially convincing 'scientific' analysis of the Last Photo. I think it's someone with a brain who has nothing else to do with it!

Rushing out but everyone here have a good day and so glad about the dog Diane. Everyone who's had a much-loved pet has been there and eventually of course it IS good bye.

Gina said...

Tulip I agree too having read it 3 times that it has to be a hoax and a very sick one at that. However I suppose we all cluth at straws for a minute and look for a possible solution. I suppose I got a little hooked into it because I know what my friend has been up to for several years now and how he travels all over the world working with other police forces to liase on tracking these paedo gangs. However as much as I am busting to ask him to read this article and confirm if any part of it could be true, I will not, because before they came we agreed to "a pact of silence" too because they need to forget about their job for a few days and relax.

Off now to show them around town for a while

SeaWitch said...

Gina,

I see that you did try to post it on Alsabella's site, too, and that your motives were genuine.

I am sorry, I got you wrong. Please accept my genuine apology. Off out now, so have a lovely day and a great Easter x
