Mother's day Is A Special Day - Special Thoughts Go To Kate McCann

To Kate On this Your Special Day

Today we wish you some peace of mind, some respite from the harrowing grief you must constantly feel. There are no words that can convey your thoughts to us, or ours to you and I don't think you have to be a mother to understand a little of what you are feeling today.
We are all someones daughter or someones son, so we know and want to reach out to you and hope with you and tell you that we haven't given up on Madeleine either and that we will be here just as long as you want us and need us.

Love and Prayers On Mothering Sunday From: The Madeleine McCann Justice For All The Family Blog xxx

I Chose The Story Below For Today In The Hope That It May Help Some To Think Again About The McCann Family.

FINALLY the nation gets what it seems to have wanted for months now—the chance to watch a weeping, broken Kate McCann.
All those who muttered "I told you so" when Maddie's parents were named suspects by the bungling Portuguese police, will doubtless write off her public collapse as cynical manipulation.
It's not enough that her child is missing and feared dead. It's not enough that she has shrunk and aged before our eyes.
Some of us, many of us it seems, need to see her sob and grieve before she's deemed worthy of our sympathy.

Some of us scream and shout, others hide deep inside themselves and a few find solace in action.
Whether it's holding a press conference, going for a run or scrubbing the kitchen floor, sometimes action, any action, is better than curling up in a chair to think the unthinkable.

Twenty-five years ago tomorrow an Australian jury found a mother guilty of killing her own baby —basically because they didn't like the look of her.
She showed no emotion. She didn't wail or sob. She clearly did it. Except that she didn't.
Years after they threw away the key to Lindy Chamberlain's cell, new evidence was found to back her claim that her child was snatched by a dingo. Eventually she was pardoned.
We should learn from that.

The McCanns aren't characters in some chilling soap opera. They are real people trying to find a way through the worst thing life can throw at anyone.
And in real life, there is absolutely no relation between pain shown and pain felt. In the circumstances.

Kate McCann is a woman in a million just for continuing to stand upright. I have nothing but admiration for her quiet dignity.
My thoughts and prayers are with her every day

Happy Mothers Day to everyone.

On a very sad note, I have read an article in The Observer/Guardian, about James Bolgers mother.

I screamed out loud as I read that article. It is very confronting and hard to read. How hard it has been for her, to lose her little boy that way, for no reason, for evil.

It is too much for me, I cant read this stuff anymore. I feel so bad for James' mother and I cant get out of my mind what happened to James. My son is two, a tiny litle boy, the same age and size as James. How could those animals harm him at all let alone in the way they did. Cruel little bastards. And to think they are out of gaol.

Here is the link for those of you who think you can take it. Its an awful article to read.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/mar/02/ukcrime.prisonsandprobation1

How do we live in a world with such evil? In the article it says that james mother was at the butcher shop and they were separated. And those little bastards took him. God, I lost sight of my daughter a couple of times on Saturday when I was shopping. No wonder I got into such a panic, it only takes seconds to lose them.

I know that James' mother wont read this but I still want to send her my best wishes and for her to know we havent forgotten James and never will. We feel for her, and Shannon's mum and of course Kate.

And all the other mothers out there that are separated from their children for whatever reason.

Mothers day should be a celebration to show mothers how much we care, not a time of sadness.

I cant even imagine what Kate is going through but whatever it is, Kate know we support you 100%.

And on a lighter note. I had a thought (out of the blue and believe me this is not something I think about at all) about notdoc (cant even think of his name).

Assassin, I know you dont think he is a doctor at all because of a few slips he made. But something has been at the back of my mind about it. And this is what it is.

My paediatrician (my daughter had one for the firs two years of her life and my son for the first sixth months) works such long hours (and is always on call), that he just doesnt have time for sitting on blogs. My paediatrician's wife says she never sees him unless she goes to work with him (that is how I met her). So how does the notdoc have time to be on the internet so much.

Just something I like to point out.

No one need answer me on this,as this subject is obviously a waste of blog space

The link to the article about james bolger's mother didnt come out.

But if you use google news and search for Madeleine McCann, sort by date, you will see it come up.

It is annoying that the links dont wrap properly and get bits and pieces cut off.

Sorry not able to catch up with anyone tonight.

Will look in tomorrow morning to see how you are all going.

Good morning melbel and dianeh, and a happy mothers day to all mothers young and old. Sadly I lost my mother who I miss terribly, especially as Mothers Day approaches and I'm looking in the card shops. I used to love picking out that special card, choosing a nice selection from the florists and then seeing my mothers smile when I presented my gift to her! How I miss my dear mother and how I envy those of you who are able to say, "Happy Mothers Day Mum" Never take your mother for granted, she is very precious and very special. I send my Love to all Mothers. X

Good morning and Happy Mothering Sunday.

Thttp://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/maddie_reward.shtml This is good news, and I note that pretty much all of the previous supporters are putting their hands in their pockets again. They could have distanced themselves a long time ago, but they haven't !

I have spared many a thought and prayer for all mothers that are without their children because of tragic and difficult circumstances, and I do give thanks that mine are with me today.

Let us hope for some positive news about Madeleine soon.

Good morning

Amen to that :)) I feel your pain.

dianeh said...

Hello to you Doby and Archer.

Just looked up the article on News of the World reward.

There has been a lot of money on the table for a long time and it hasnt led to anything.

But it may be that one of the valuable leads is one of those that reportedly wasnt investigated or followed up.

dianeh said...

And I have just put my daughter to bed, checked my son and know they are safe.

I feel a bit better than when I made those earlier posts.

Doby, it must be the day for sadness, when it is meant to be for joy and celebration. And it isnt even Mother's day here. It is in May in Australia.

dianeh said...

And on that note, good night to you.

We are playing india in a one day match and getting a flogging, so I think I might go to bed and get control of the remote in the bedroom before the other half does. I think the cricket is about to finish.

Oh no, too late. Its finished and he is heading up to bed.

Talk to you soon.

Good morning

Yes indeed there has, but I am hopeful that whoever has Madeleine or any knowledge of her whereabouts might be prompted into making a move. I think there must be more than one person involved in this, and sometimes loyalties change...ever hopeful, that's me !

melbel said...

Hi Doby and Archer,a special thought too, for those of us whose mothers have gone back to God.We carry them within our hearts always.
I hope that those without pity, will hang their heads with shame one day.
I believe that many of them are cowards and would not be so hostile in real life and probably they have to come on the internet to attack suffering people, because they can find no one with their extreme views in real life !
We have to remember that there is some force for goodness in this world and the majority of us have been brought up to feel empathy and care for our fellows,or the world would not function.
It is sad that these poor parents have been only trying to keep madeleine in the public eye, before the next news item sweeps it away.
They have done an admirable job, even though the cost has been so much for them personally.

Diana, I am not interested in this notdoc character, either. He said he came from the Isle of Mull.[Whats the story Balamorey ?] Do you get that on your children's tv ?
Doctors I have seen do not have time for the internet either, unless it is for research.
He started off by being a researcher, but lost it and ended up eaten by paranoia and spite.
That is why I hope he is not a doctor.
Will be off for most of day,as my children and grandchildren are coming.
I looked at A's {alsa's site] and she was telling people to look better after their children [my paraphrasing ]
They would be taking most children into care, if they mean to highlight anyone who made a mistake in parenting, including my own children.
We all do the best we can and these Mccann children are very obviously loved and cared for.
According to Alsa' blog,Viv has contacted police re an abusive and libellous poster.
I never read that site, but that is taking the biscuit.
Mind you, that shows how far divorced from reality they are and I hope it makes the Police and Clarence, more able to finger members of that blog[ if true ]
Regards Everyone X

Hi Melbel & Everyone,

Mel I echo your thoughts re Viles blog. Sounds as if she has been getting some payback. For her own sake I hope she closes the blog down and seeks the medical help she so obviously needs.

On a lighter note, happy Mothering Sunday to everyone.

My niece is being induced today, what a wonderful gift on Mothers day. Having lost 2 babies it makes it even more poignant.

My heart goes out to Kate, knowing her own difficulties in trying to become a mother. I dont know how she will get through today the sadness in her heart must be immense. Hopefully the twins will give her some comfort but nothing can feel that empty void of her first born. Memories of last years Mother's day will no doubt be at the forefront of her mind.

Kate, please know, my thoughts along with many others are with you and your family today. xx

Morning to all,

Happy Mother's Day to all mums and especially remember those of us that no longer have our mum's, it is hard, but remember, didn't our own mother's prepare us for when they were no longer here, by the things they said and did? They would be pretty annoyed with us if they thought we were getting upset today, instead of remembering the good times they gave us, I know my mum would, she would have something to say to me for sure. lol

To all the mums who are separated from their children today for whatever reason our love and thoughts are with you and we hope and pray that your pain soon ceases.

Di re the links, I do not know much about computers but if when we copy a link we put it down in word and then check it against what actually displays on our posts replacing any bits that are left out, would that work? Just a thought as I have followed a couple of links that do not work too and it seems a shame.

A message to the PJ on Mothering Sunday.

I dont know if you celebrate Mothers day today, but if you do, look deep into your conscience and see what you have subjected this poor mother too and possibly little Joanna's mother.

Have the guts to make a stand, Ribeiro has already sown the seed that Kate was made an Arguida too hastily, you know it was wrong too. Its time to make a difference, its time for change, YOU can stop this now!

There are rumours of a PJ confession, dont be afraid, come out you will have immense respect & support.

Hi Rosie,

My mum is no longer with me and I have taken comfort from your post.

Thank you.

Hi Rosie and Tinks
A very happy mother's day and special thoughts for those who are hurting.
You are right re our mother's,Rosie and they would be pleased that we care about others and about justice.
my dear mother would certainly want me on this blog and no other !
Well said, Tinks, as ever.
it is hard to be brave for the PJ,but there certainly would be great respect and support for any of them breaking their silence.
After all, most people go into that job to do good and there can be no satisfaction in trying to discredit innocent people.
The truth will come out in the end, as even if the PJ just shelve the case and try to keep innuendo against the family, not really clearing them, the McCs and the British public, are not going to accept that.
I would not like it on my conscience, that I had deliberately confounded the suffering and tried to discredit, two innocent people.
All the best and wonderful about your niece and her happiness.Keep us posted, Tinks.
I am not on much, but you are stars for starting the blog.
I saw Elizabeth on a De thread re the threats against Prince Harry, but Bianca was in the frame too .Put the sandbags up, tee hee.

Thanks Melbel, we are trying!

I'm just gonna pop out to the cementry to "see" a special lady, but will be back shortly.

Happy Mother's Day to you all - in Canada, we don't celebrate Mother's Day until May.

Your article was excellent, Rosie - I thought it was very good reminding readers of an innocent woman who had been accused of a hideous crime and years later evidence was found which cleared her.

Diane - James Bulger was another event that broke
everyone's heart. Weren't the courts lenient on the culprits (because of their ages)? Didn't one of them grow up to be a monster
raping and murdering?

melbel said...

Hello Calcite
Happy day to you too.
I am not really here, as the family are due to land, but I have admired your calm and reasoned debating on the other blog.
I am just an ordinary gran, so I dodge the posts I do not want to answer ie the people of ill intent.
It is nice to see that people in other countries care for madeleine and her family too.Take care x

Just went to read the article Diane recommended on James Bulger and his mother. If it is very heart wrenching for us to read - can you imagine being his mother and living through all she has endured? I really pray that what goes around comes around if not on earth then perhaps when Judgement Day comes.

calcite51 said...

Thank you Melbel for your kind words especially after yesterday's fiasco on the other site. Don't think I shall be going there for some time (if ever).

I have a confession - last nite I visited Viv's blog. It was my very first time. One of the posters was discussing the Marc Dutroux case - I thought that was very interesting.

The rest was rants and raves about the 'trolls'.

Hi all!
I have enjoyed reading all of your posts & happy mothers day.

My heart goes out to Kate and her mother and others who have lost a loved one. Since this tragedy happened I honestly thought there were no real good genuine people left in society and by that I mean the people who did not take it upon themselves to finger point or played judge and jury towards this heartbroken couple whose child has been taken. The people who believe in innocent until proven guilty in a Court of law. The people who can show sympathy and empathise with this couple whom we do not know. The ones who have shown caution with regards to this case and have kept an open mind. You have restored my faith in the human race. Thank you.

Hi Everyone

I guess you all know what happened on Viv's last night, just for the record, I and I know the others do not condone that behaviour and think it is wrong, it came to my attention that Viv has taken loads of posts from here yesterday and posted them on her blog and I have replied, below is a copy of the post I made on that blog.

While I think that was completely unnecessary yesterday, I do think Viv has received some of the vile back which she has given out and has probably attracted the wrong sort of person to that blog and is now trying to blame us for it and I saw that Hop4Truth has been accusing us of posting that filth.
as I say, I do not think Viv's blog should have been subjected to that attack last night but feel she has contributed to it herself by attracting unhinged people with her dreadful vicious and venomous comments and accusations towards others.

Rosiepops said...
I don't think you have the right person down for that disgusting episode on here last night, look a little closer to home!

In no way, do I or would I, condone that filth written on here and I don't think even you deserved to be subjected to it, but Viv, you are constantly leaving yourself open to attack by writing the kind of venomous and vile comments that you do about me and others and the McCann's and you encourage others to do this too. This whole site is a libel minefield, not to me because I am anonymous, but to the Mccann's Clarence Mitchell, Jane Tanner, M3 etc they are libellous comments and quite how you do not see this especially as you say you have legal training is beyond comprehension.

I am truly sorry you received that nasty awful attack, but please stop trying to blame us and our blog for it or our posters for it, as far as I know we had nothing to do with it.
Coming over to our blog and nicking our posts because you think it offers some sort of explanation as to why you received this attack is ridiculous and it is making you look even more ridiculous in the eyes of fair minded people, can't you see this? Also can't you see how obsessed and narrow minded with tunnel vision you are beginning to look with this stalking of me and whatever I write? I don't stalk you Viv, why would I? Even though you have launched an astonishing attacks on me, I have let them all go as you mean absolutely nothing to me, yet here you are with a whole page of posts made by me on OUR site! NOT your site, OUR site, although they look like I have written on here.

This is the one time I am writing here and note I am putting my name to it.
I don't mind that you or others nick the occasional post and paste it here, I guess it works both ways, but not while pages of them Viv, it is looking like you are a little unhinged.

I really hate for anyone to think that I would have anything to do with this blog as you and the others and the content of this place could not be further from what I think, or believe in.

That's all I have to say, no doubt you will take this down or ridicule me for it, but it is nothing more than I have come to expect.

Good Luck.

I echo your sentiments.

Unfortunately, we will get the blame and possibly the repercussions of, because thats how they work, it is always somebody elses fault. They will not see that they invited their own demise if that is what it is.

I would respectfully ask our posters to not rise to attacks that may be forthcoming and to do as we always try to do, rise above it.

Thanks and well said. I felt I had to post a reply on that blog, it was mild in comparison to the sick comments from the author in her opening post, but it needed to be said and of course it will either be removed or ridiculed and I am prepared for that, but felt it needed to be said and I said it under my own ID.

I echo your request about not rising to the bait, just ignore anything that may come as a result of last night, which I believe we have nothing to do with.

Tinks I wanted to ask if you have read the news about this children's home in Jersey? It is in the mail On Sunday?

I am going to post it here because it makes chilling reading and because it should alert all of us as to what CAN go on in the most unlikely places in very small communities like Jersey. Jersey has a population of around 88.000!

'I have known about Jersey paedophiles for 15 years,' says award-winning journalist

By EILEEN FAIRWEATHER 2nd March 2008

The award-winning journalist who exposed terrible abuse in Islington children's homes now reveals horrifying links to sinister discoveries at Jersey's Haut de la Garenne.

I met the frightened policeman at an isolated country restaurant, many miles from his home and station. Detective Constable Peter Cook had finally despaired, and decided to blow the whistle to a reporter.

He was risking his career, so made me scribble my notes into a tiny pad beneath the tablecloth.

He had uncovered a vicious child sex ring, with victims in both Britain and the Channel Islands, and he wanted me to get his information to police abuse specialists in London.

Tragic truth: Eileen Fairweather's tenacious investigations of abuse revealed links to Jersey

Incredibly, he claimed that his superiors had barred him from alerting them.

He feared a cover-up: many ring members were powerful and wealthy. But I did not think him paranoid: I specialised in exposing child abuse scandals and knew, from separate sources, of men apparently linked to this ring.

They included an aristocrat, clerics and a social services chief. Their friends included senior police officers.

Repeatedly, inquiries by junior detectives were closed down, so I, a journalist, was asked to convey confidential information from one police officer to others. It seemed surreal

I duly met trusted contacts at the National Criminal-Intelligence Squad. That was more than 12 years ago, and little happened - until now.

Last weekend, a child's remains were found at a former children's home on Jersey amid claims of a paedophile ring.

More than 200 children who lived at Haut de la Garenne have described horrific sexual and physical torture dating back to the Sixties.

When I heard the news, my eyes filled with tears. I felt heartbroken, not least at my own powerlessness. I have known for more than 15 years about Channel Islands paedophiles victimising children in the British care system.

I was relieved that the truth was finally emerging. But I felt devastated. Children had probably been murdered. I had so not wanted to be right.

I stood outside the forbidding Victorian building of Haut de la Garenne this week and watched grim-faced police in blue plastic forensic suits hunt its bricked-up secret basements for children's bones.

Outside, a large cross commemorates the 35 former residents who died fighting for their country: "Their names liveth forever." Oh yes?

What are the names of the children whose bodies may now be dug up - and why did no one miss and search for them earlier? Jersey's residents and political class must ask these questions.

Disturbing allegations about the murder of children in care have characterised other scandals I investigated in Britain, but today I can reveal for the first time the links between the abuse I uncovered at care homes in Islington, North London, and the horrifying discoveries on Jersey.

I have never before written that 14-year-old Jason Swift, killed in 1985 by a paedophile gang, is believed to have lived in Islington council's Conewood Street home.

Two sources claimed this when I investigated Islington's 12 care homes for The Mail on Sunday's sister paper, the London Evening Standard, in the early Nineties.

But hundreds of children's files mysteriously disappeared in Islington and, without documentation, this was not evidence enough.

We did, however, prove that every home included staff who were paedophiles, child pornographers or pimps. Concerned police secretly confirmed that several Islington workers were believed "networkers", major operators in the supply of children for abuse and pornography.

Some of these were from the Channel Islands or regularly took Islington children there on unofficial visits. In light of the grisly discoveries at Haut de la Garenne, the link now seems significant, but at the time we were so overwhelmed by abuse allegations nearer home that this connection never emerged.

What we did report prompted the sort of vehement official denials that have come to characterise child abuse claims. Margaret Hodge, then council leader, denounced us as Right-wing "gutter journalists" who supposedly bribed children to lie.

Our findings were eventually vindicated by Government-ordered inquiries, and two British Press Awards. Yet I knew we had only scraped the surface of Islington's corruption.

Now Jersey police under deputy chief Lenny Harper - a 'new broom' outsider - have been secretly investigating a paedophile ring linked to the island's care homes for months, I have been struck by common factors with the British abuse scandals: innocent-sounding sailing trips, where children can be isolated and abused, away from prying eyes, then delivered to other abusers; the familiar smearing of whistle-blowers; and the suppression of damning reports.

Jersey social worker Simon Bellwood was sacked early last year after speaking out, and popular health minister Stuart Syvret, 42, was fired in November after publicising the suppressed Sharp Report into abuse allegations.

"The smears on me are water off a duck's back," this brave man told me yesterday in a St Helier cafe. But his hands shook.

I have never assumed that the officials, politicians and police who cover up abuse scandals are all paedophiles, nor does Syvret.

"They just want a quiet life and their competency unquestioned. I'm angrier with them than the abusers, and want several prosecuted for obstructing the course of justice. The police are considering charges," he added.

Traditionally, police fear paedophile ring inquiries as expensive and unproductive. Traumatised witnesses can be hazy and collapse under cross-examination.

Convictions are rare. Police therefore raid suspected abusers for paedophile pornography, which more easily yields convictions.

Well - in theory. In June 1991, police in Cambridgeshire raided the home of Neil Hocquart who abused children in Britain and Guernsey and, with a social worker from Jersey, supplied child pornography for a huge sex ring.

It should have been a major breakthrough. But, as DC Cook told me, it went horribly wrong.

A handful of child sex-ring victims become "recruiters". They are not beaten but rewarded with gifts,

money and 'love'. In return, their job is to procure other victims. Such a man, my whistle-blower believed, was Neil Frederick Hocquart.

Hocquart, original surname Foster, was abused while in care in Norfolk and was eventually 'befriended' by an older man, merchant seaman Captain H. Hocquart of Vale, in Guernsey, whose surname he adopted.

Captain Hocquart was not the only Channel Islands man with an interest in children in care. Satan worshipper Edward Paisnel, "The Beast of Jersey", was given a 30-year sentence in 1971 on 13 counts of raping girls and boys. The building contractor fostered children and played Father Christmas at Haut de la Garenne in the Sixties.

Cambridgeshire police, in a joint operation with Scotland Yard's Obscene Publications Squad (now the Paedophile Unit), raided Neil Hocquart's Swaffham Manor home in June 1991.

They found more than 100 child-sex videos and 300 photographs of children. At nearby Ely they found his friend, Walter Clack, trying to dispose of a sick home video of a middle-aged man abusing a boy.

Who were the children in these films and photos? Police needed properly to question these men. But they never got the chance.

Hocquart secretly took an overdose of anti-depressant dothiepin and died at Addenbrooke's Hospital soon after his arrest. Was his suicide a last act of loyalty?

DC Cook told me incredulously that a senior officer broke with normal procedure and informed Clack, before he was questioned, that the other suspect was dead. Clack then blamed the dead man for everything, and escaped with a £5,000 fine - and inherited one third of Hocquart's wealth, at his bequest.

Wills featured strongly in the fortunesof the Islington and Channel Islands paedophiles. Police discovered that Neil Hocquart inherited his wealth from the Guernsey sea captain.

But Captain Hocquart possibly paid dearly for befriending orphans: he died soon after making out his will in the younger man's favour.

Scotland Yard detectives told me they found at least "two or three" wills of older men who died of apparent heart attacks shortly after leaving everything to Neil Hocquart.

The officers cheerfully called him a "murderer". These deaths were never investigated: the suspect, after all, was now also dead.

Hocquart wasn't the only person in his circle to become rich this way. A Jersey-born friend of Hocquart's, who started his childcare career on the island before becoming a key supplier of children from Islington's care homes to paedophile rings, similarly inherited a fortune.

Nicholas John Rabet was for many years deputy superintendent of Islington council's home at 114 Grosvenor Avenue.

He and a colleague, another single man later barred from social work by the Department of Health, both took children on unauthorised trips to Jersey. Allegations mounted but nothing was done.

Rabet's opportunities to obtain victims massively increased after he befriended the widow of an American oil millionaire. She died after rewriting her will in his favour.

He inherited her manor house at Cross in Hand near Heathfield, Sussex, where he opened a children's activity centre, and regularly invited children in Islington's care to stay.

Hocquart spent £13,000 on quad bikes for the centre, called The Stables, and he and Walter Clack became "volunteers" there.

Hocquart befriended one young boy and took him on a sailing trip, where there would be little risk of being spotted. Police found disturbing film from the trip of men spraying the naked child with water.

But Hocquart left the boy another third of his money, and he denied abuse when questioned.

Police also found at Hocquart's home naked photos of a boy of about ten, whom they learned was in the care of Islington social services. I shall call him Shane.

Sussex police raided Rabet's children's centre. But he had plenty of warning and, they believed, emptied it of child pornography. However officers still found a "shrine to boys", with suggestive photographs everywhere, including pictures of Shane.

They approached Shane, at his Islington children's home. He tearfully confirmed months of abuse. But their attempts to investigate further were thwarted by Islington Council.

Many professionals had, for years, expressed grave fears about Rabet, and put their concerns in writing. But Islington falsely told Sussex officers it had no file material on Rabet or his alleged victim.

Staff had in fact been ordered to find the complaints and deliver them to the office of Lyn Cusack, Islington's assistant director of social services - but they were handed over to Sussex police only when I revealed their existence.

Islington's appalling mishandling of vital records was highlighted by the independent White inquiry into the abuse in Islington children's homes, which found that "at assistant director level . . . many confidential files were destroyed by mistake, although there is no evidence of conspiracy."

During the investigation into Rabet, Islington also refused to interview any other children in care, or, scandalously, help Sussex police identify other children in Rabet's photos.

With only Shane's evidence to rely on, police decided not to prosecute.

I traced Shane. He was furious that Rabet was never prosecuted, but not surprised. "This goes right to the top," he said, "You have no idea how big this is."

He showed me photos of another victim, a young Turkish boy with a sweet shy smile whom Rabet also regularly took from the Islington home to spend weekends at his manor house.

Shane didn't know where the boy was now, he just disappeared. I was never able to find the boy, either. Many children in care are missed by no one.

I retraced Shane two years ago to tell him that justice had finally caught up with Rabet. Third World police had succeeded where Britain's finest in Cambridgeshire, Sussex, London and Jersey had failed.

Rabet fled to Thailand's notorious child sex resort of Pattaya after the White inquiry. He was arrested there in spring 2006 and charged with abusing 30 boys, some as young as six.

Thai police believed he had abused at least 300. But he was never tried: on May 12, 2006, Rabet died of an overdose at the age of 57.

Two other Jersey-born social workers, who for legal reasons I cannot name, also worked in Islington and later with young offenders.

One arranged more of those mysterious sailing trips to Guernsey, the other sent children to Rabet's centre. Both were accused of abuse.

In 1995, we reinvestigated Rabet and met DC Cook at the restaurant. He had gone through Hocquart's papers, investigated other members of the paedophile ring and met their victims. He was horrified at what he discovered.

One man, for example, married a single mother purely so he could abuse her two young sons.

"He told these poor children to keep quiet, that their mother had been lonely so long they would ruin her life if they said anything," the officer told me.

The vicar who married them knew the groom was a paedophile but did not care: he was one too, and got his victims from a British care home.

DC Cook travelled to Guernsey, which Hocquart regularly visited. There local CID officers drove him round, and he met two brothers whom Hocquart abused, then delivered them to a high-ranking, respected local man to rape.

DC Cook traced another distraught victim in England who provided invaluable information about the man, based in Wales, who copied the ring's child pornography for distribution.

This man clearly needed his door kicked in by police, as did Hocquart's other contacts in Britain and the Channel Islands. But no action was taken.

Then word came from on high to drop his inquiries. DC Cook accepted that there might be an innocent explanation - that his local force might not want the financial burden of a national investigation.

But he became deeply troubled when told not to forward his vital intelligence to specialist officers elsewhere.

Britain's new National Criminal Intelligence Squad (NCIS) had the job of disseminating intelligence on paedophiles across the country. Would I, asked the troubled officer, take his information to the squad's Paedophile Unit for him?

And so we pretended to share a meal while I secretly scribbled down the names, addresses, dates of birth and believed victims of dozens of suspects.

My diary records that I met NCIS on January 4, 1996, at 10.30am, and I also channelled the intelligence to Scotland Yard. Neither, unfortunately, had the power to make local forces take action, so I was not optimistic.

This was not the first time I had acted as a go-between. In 1994, another police officer was barred from investigating a paedophile ring, which included an Islington social worker of Channel Islands origin.

We alerted Scotland Yard. This man was, I learned, involved with five overlapping paedophile rings - but he has never been convicted.

Peter Cook has now retired and agreed to go on the record. He told me the partner of Hocquart's video producer was eventually imprisoned for abusing his own sons. "But we could have stopped so much else, so much earlier," he said.

"The news from Jersey is horrifying. I've thought of Rabet all week. The hierarchy does not like these inquiries, they're expensive and produce embarrassment, so people shove it all under the carpet, they don't want to know even when children are dying.

"There will be people now crawling out claiming they were always worried. What cowards, what bastards!"

Jersey police confirmed this week it was aware of Nick Rabet and keen to learn more about his friends. Peter Cook told me: "I will help all I can."

Michael Hames, the former head of Scotland Yard's Obscene Publications Squad, once told me that he never doubted paedophiles were killing children in care.

But the climate of disbelief was fierce, and he asked sadly: "What police chief will dare risk his career by hiring JCBs [to search for the bodies]?"

Courageous Ulsterman Lenny Harper has. Deposed Jersey health minister Stuart Syvret told me: "My family has lived here since William the Conqueror. But if an indigenous police officer were in charge, this investigation would never have happened. Jersey is an oligarchy, where the elite look after each other."

When I flew home late last night, in time for Mother's Day, I felt utter relief.

This tiny island with its high-hedged lanes looked so pretty when the police series Bergerac was filmed here, but to me said just one thing: that there is no escape from here for a terrified child.

If witnesses who want, finally, to help these tragically un-mothered children, now is the time to speak out.

Yes it was the British Police that examined the forensic evidence, but it is the Portugese Police that have chosen to use it in the way they have. I myself lived in Portugal for a year 1999 - 2000 and my personal experience and knowledge of the police and how they work is beyond belief. Just as an example I had once stopped to jump start my friends car, after I had done so I drove down the street only to be stopped by the police who told me I had to hand over 100 pounds there and then as a fine, when I protested they upped the amount to 200, the more distraught I became the higher the amount became. This is just one of many insane incidents I am aware of involving the Portugese police who quite happily stand around smoking on street corners. My heart goes out to the McCanns, of course in resect as to what they are going through with the disappearance of their daughter but also due to the fact it has happened in a country which have a police force which are as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

Hi Rosie, Tinks,Helen,I have not been on the computer,as I had guests, but was unaware of the details re viv's blog, as I do not visit there, but only read some reference on Alsa's site, which I look at from time to time, re the Police.
I support you in your post to them and it is sad that they do not have the insight to see how sick and unbalanced posters gravitate to them, because reading the tone of viv's writings, as on DE, such a person would feel that it was a natural home for them.
No doubt the police, if so informed, will be studying the blog content and will be able to trace such a person, but will also have an eye opener in reading what Viv and friends think is acceptable writings.
It is sick that Viv tries to turn this against people, who show integrity and a consistently fair minded approach.
While being critical of such a sick minded blogger, evil attracts evil and that is a fact.
I shall not be visiting to see what was said, as I would regard it as some cyber hell hole, anyway, consistent with the postings I saw, while reading the DE forum.

Off to eat now.Take care everyone x

A very lovely Mother's day to you too.

I expect it is quite today, with people being out, but look forward to reading the regulars later.

I could not agree more, fortunately Viv has taken the posts down, but why replace them with ones taken from here? It is as if she is determined to punish us for what seh has inflicted upon herself, despite all the warnings she has been given she chose to carry on in this fashion and then blames everyone else.
Of course when she goes to the police they are going to read through her blog and will of course get a very good idea of the content and the type of person it will have attracted, this is why I object vehemently to my name appearing there so much, I want nothing to do with the place.

Mandz

That is a very interesting article and I have heard thugs like this before about the police in Portugal. Wasn't it Murat's friend who gave him a false alibi because he was scared that Murat would get framed?
If Murat is innocent perhaps this is what is behind him constantly changing his story? He is scared of being set up?
Look at the Leona Cipriano case, look at what has happened there, how many of the Pj are actually arguidos? 5 there for a start facing serious charges which sound like they would carry a jail sentence if they are found guilty!

Mandz said...

Thank you Rosie & Mellbel & happy mothers day to you both xx

I read have read this sort of stuff before about the PJ and it give us an insight into their police and how they work. As for Murat perhaps he is scared but he did work for them so I would imagine he would have been friendly with them? As for his alibi??? I think there is more than meets the eye with regards to him and perhaps he is the “spotter” if you know what I mean.
As for Viv site for crying out loud we have better things to do with our Saturday! What makes them so sure it was Pros? They obviously have invited bad company. If they come I shall ignore and if they take my post again notdoc “whatever”!
Right off again catch ya later!

Hello all,
Happy mothers day to all those who are mothers here.

I read some of the comments that were posted on vile's blog last night and was very shocked by their content.

This morning I found this post by Viv on my blog:

Anonymous said...
Supertroll/ Assasin Thoughts for a Muse etc - the Police have a full copy of this "blog" and all the perverted filth posted on my site tonight. You are a very sick person - I note you said to ~"Rosiepops" you were working - you need locking up!

Viv x

I am not happy at all that I was blamed for posting that filth. I saw that all your posts were taken from here and posted there. Which begs the question:
To prove what exactly?

Rosie I read your post to them and good for you.

Maybe it will be a good idea if she really does go to the police and this whole mess can be sorted out.

I have called a truce with them for today because I was very sickened by the posts.

Rosiepops said...

Hi ST

Yes I hope she does go to the police too, then they can look at the content of her blog and let's face it, it does need looking at.
I am not happy that we on here seem to have been blamed for that filth either and I see they were even trying to blame a person that hasn't been heard of since the DX went and why take posts from here and post them there? What does it prove?

We are not going to close our blog down because we are here not to provide fodder for Viv and her friends to pick over, we are in existence for a particular reason and that is to try and provide support for the McCann's, so they can see that there are good and decent people out here on this weird place the world wide web that want to redress the balance in some small way.

As I have said to her, if she keeps giving this kind of venom out she will attract it back, but even this does not seem to have taught her a lesson, even now she has written extremely offensive things about me on her blog.

Oh well Supertroll there is none so blind as those that simply refuse to see!

Anonymous said...

Rosiepops,

I can see about the blindness, as I have said before and in my latest post she seems to act like she is under some kind of siege.

Anyone who disagrees with her blog gets so much abuse..., maybe some help will come at last if the police are informed. At least this may help some people to put things into perspective.

There was a new poster yesterday. I mentioned him/her here. This person seemed very unhinged. I believe this person may be behind the posts.

I have tried to go to the vile blog to offer my support over the filth posted but all my posts have been deleted.

I have heard mentioned that poster and went to see what it was about, but did not have time to stay long intending on going back later to read properly, but when I did I was confronted by that awful stuff and just came away, hoping that Viv would see it and take it down, I am not that easily shockable anymore, but admit I was last night.
I have just popped over and can see two posts made by you ST so I think you may have made a mistake in saying that they were deleted.
The post I made is also still there to date.

I have my own feelings about who is involved there, but that is for her to sort out.

Hi!
So viv has called in the police! Well that’s the most sensible thing to do if these posts were that bad however I object to her blaming us. Has she blamed Alsablog? I bet she has not however it just might be from within her camp or Alsa to stir trouble. Let’s hope the police sort this out however I’m not sure they can do much and it sounds from what Rosie has said she has invited bad company.

Anonymous said...

Calcite,

They were all removed, over 200 of them. They were extremely sick and depraved posts which had nothing to do about Madeleine thankfully.

The poster went on about all kinds of sick sexual stuff which I won't repeat here. Whoever posted them is extremely sick.

Viv using her fine detective skills then went and blamed anyone who has ever disagreed with her.

Apparently the latest conspiracy theory is that they were posted as an attempt to make google flag the blog as inappropriate.

The blog has always been inappropriate!

I've jut dropped in cos i was alerted to a post in here regarding what has been said in Viv's site.

Thankyou for making me aware of what she is saying.

I have just posted this on her blog so thought id let you all know what action i am taking.

Viv, I have never not once before posted on your blog - ever. I have taken a screen copy of your posting suggesting i was in here last night posting.

Your comments are libellous, slanderous and a defamation of character.

I am posting here now as I found out what you have written in another site.

I hope you have contacted the police. They are most welcome to come and thoroughly examine my computer, get my ip number log files from bt broadband which shall satisfy them I have never before put foot in your site.

If there is not a retraction in full regarding your accusation above, i shall be contacting a solicitor this week.

Since I am identifiable on the internet and work on the internet a libel and defamation case is valid.

If you contact google yourself they should be able to verify for you that any postings made in here last night were most certainly not made by me, nor would they ever be.

I await the apology.

We all know who would have motive to make postings all over your blog and use them to infer it was me.

I think everyone in all blogs and press sites are fully aware I never hide my identity when posting.

Id also like to point out that supertroll and supertroll blog is not me, not related to me and a blog i do not frequent either. The only connection there has ever been between myself and supertroll and the supertroll blog is my offering to her to come over and help out anytime she was on the end of more abuse or viscious attacks.

You are most welcome to contact me by email Viv and I will personally call this very evening whichever police force you have complained to and give them my local stations details and my own personal details immediately.

I'm sure you shall either delete this or twist it. That is up to you, but I am not going to tolerate libel and defamation of character and false accusations like you have placed above.

Many Thanks for your co-operation and I look forward to hearing from you so this matter can be sorted out.

My details will be obtainable by google immediately i make this post. Please contact them so they can verify whoever was in here last night posting was not myself.

Regards
S

ps. Contact details scorpius166@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks again for posting - making me aware of the libel etc.

Hi Irina

I agree the posts I have put up today are shocking - the ones last night amounted to a serious criminal offence and demonstrated a dangerous and depraved mind but the author is the same person.

Supertroll and Assasin you will note have the same unique signature and their chosen usernames do not leave a lot to the imagination. The thing that calls itself Rosie has congratutulated and encouraged this animal and has wrote literally hundreds of extremely offensive posts about me, continues to do so, and then comes on here today trying to plead its innocence. Decent people are not fooled by one who repeatedly insists the McCanns decisions to consistently leave their tiny children alone all night, every night, whilst they enjoyed themselves and then dump them every day in the creche are nice caring parents who just made a terrible mistake. Neither are we fooled by his disgusting racist rants, not just about Portuguese people but the one about how Sudanese people apparently go around chopping people's heads off with machetes. Anyone who can think and write this sort of stuff has a very dark and seriously perverted personality. How awful was it when Rosie even sought to link the McCanns to poor Mrs Bulger and Mrs Payne??

The McCanns campaign and the sick people who seek to represent them epitomises those that abuse others with no humanity or conscience. Child abuse, racism - what sort of people resort to this? It is a little say to try and distance itself from this abuse and clearly only done because I have now involved the police. Something I should have done a long time ago.

There are lovely people contributing to this blog. People who love, honour and respect defenceless little children who need protection from sick, dangerous and abusive adults. We will continue to stand firm against them. Criminals always try to portray themselves as victims - we know the real victims, children with abusive and dangerous parents like poor Maddie had. We will continue to point that out and stand on the side of decency, respect for the police and Justice for all abused children.

Viv x

Unbelievable!

Thankyou Supertroll. Ive saved all that too in screen shots and source from her site too.

She is going to be in big trouble if she phoned the police and they are in her blog. It breaks the law every single day.

Just about to make some phone calls and send an official complaint to google too.

Thanks again for your help.

I knew she would delete my post - the last thing she wants anyone to see is the truth.

Its funny that all roads lead back to the same source whether it is vivs blog or here that is getting it.

I wont stand for this for a second. i've taken action before so no hesitation in doing so again.

Mum21 said...

Good Evening All.
After looking back on the comments made last night after I left...I have a few things to say.
Firstly asassin...I thought you left this blog last night after attacking several regular posters on here. You said this was not the place for you to be. If anyone caused our comments to be copy and pasted onto Viv's blog...it was you.
Between you and Dadto3..we were set up. Thank you very much.

Secondly..I am not so sure I will be back either. What started out as a clean, pleasant blog in support of the McCann's has now become almost as bad as Viv's.
I cannot help but wonder if a few of you came here just for that purpose.
You found a nice home here on the net to invade and spread your abusive and rude comments.
It is no longer about Madeleine and her parents...but gang warfare between the anti's and the pro's.

To the few good friends I have met on here...I can only wish you well...but also hope in time you see what a very few are turning this blog into.
If you are prepared to allow this...then fine. But I want no part of it.

Anonymous said...

I'm just re-reading what she posted just now that you put up here mandz. S he has done more than slip up:-)

Anonymous said...

Assassin,

I'm afraid I don't have any of the postings, but believe me, If you had read any of them, you wouldn't like to be accused of posting them.

I am furious of being accused of posting them. While I choose to remain anonymous, I do have a family and these accusations could potentially be very damaging.

I have always tried to keep the argument clean, however provocative, and I am not ashamed of my posts. If I found out that they were indeed illegal I would immediately withdraw them and apologise.

If you do make any phone calls please let me know who you have spoken to because I want to clear my name and also make a complaint.

You may be right in that the person behind them is one of their own trying to cause trouble.

As for the connection with dad and myself, couldnt be further from the truth and you are doing precisely what viv is doing in suggesting so!

Please take a look through this blog and see just how much on topic writing I have done - please. I have spent endless hours writing content in this blog and I did so for Madeleine and her family. Others felt it was informative, if you don't - that is your perogative.

I think you need a good laugh. Here's hot off the press:

An Open Letter to Paulo Pereira Cristóvão:

I have heard that you are writing a book on the case of Madeleine McCann.

No disrespect intended, but the timeline bothers me. Why not wait until the investigation is over? It should be over fairly soon or so it is rumoured. Is it because you feel the results may not be what you want and you are trying to influence the public?

Or are you perhaps, intending to write a sequence after the investigation is completed?

Another question, I have is was the informatin leaked to you by the PJ's who are under strict Portuguese rules of confidentiality.

I also noticed in Alsabella's comment that you had also written a book entitled, "The Star of Joana". With recent events, are you planning on writing a sequence to this book? In light of the fact that now 5 officers are implicated....

I don't think I need any food for my fireplace - so won't bother to purchase your books.

Anonymous said...

Assasin,

You did not upset me, personally last night, infact, I half expected you to do a 'Muse' and change tack. On the one hand, your support here has been welcome and very much appreciated, then, all of a sudden, you are doing some psycho-analysis on the rest of us and making judgements.

I'll tell you straight what really bothered me about last night and that is the off the cuff comment you made to janegt about her being part of the reason you are bowing out.

What was that all about?

You seem more like your normal self this evening and I for one, hope you were just over tired and over worked and would ask that you apologise to Janegt for your unnecessary comment.

can we now stop discussing Viv and her terrible blog for a while and just focus on why we are actually here which is to offer support to Kate and Gerry and the McCann famliy while Madeleine is missing and to keep putting their side of the argument as best we can?

I would like to see this site return to the pleasant place it was a few days ago.

Assasin I will be emailing you shortly.

Thanks everyone, I know you all want the same as we do.

If people have had a chance to read the Jersey article I put up earlier, you may see some real cause for concern there, what do you think?

Also did anyone read what Ulreka Johnson said? this is very true and sums up an awful lot how many of us on this site actually feel about this case.

what do you think?

Mandz said...

Hi Chinadoll!

Nice to see you!

Anonymous said...

No prob Supertroll.

I should have added this too. If you are worried about the content of what someone posted and being falsely linked to them - don't be.

It can be verified you didn't make the posts in a flash. The police will be far more interested in what she has in her blog and what she is saying, falsely, about us too.

If the messages were of a sexual ilk, i understand your worry, I will not be amused either if that was the case. I'm presuming that is what they were given what you are saying and the fact that viv herself calls my posts from in here last night 'sexualised' when they are far from it. Vast difference between sexualised and an analysis of the mindsets of those who get sexual gratification through perverse manner. They will be more inclined to wonder why someone saw my posts as 'sexualised' I think:-)

I note she also says Rosie and I have been chatting in here about getting her blog down? I have never had such a discussion with anyone in here or anywhere else and I have not seen Rosie do that either - rolls eyes.

However, her blog is most certainly in danger now:-)

P.s If you want me to take a look at your blog and see if it crosses any legal lines, I'm perfectly happy to do so, but it would probably be tomorrow night now cos I have a lot to do today and tomorrow.

Chinadoll. When i saaid the place wasn't for me it was because of the bickering etc. If i could just come in here and get on with responding to valid questions - fine!

If not, i have plenty else i can carry on with regarding Madeleine.

Janet did one of the things i dont like, and it has been done by several people - someone says something they dont like and they are told to get out of here. I have no time for that conduct at all. Thankfully it is only done by a few but it is still done.

She did just that to me too - said 'sod off' then when i politely said i was going. Hence my valid retort back was and there is why i am going...

I hope that makes sense China

Hi, Rosie - yes I read Ulreka Johnson article and it sums how I definitely feel about Kate. One only had to look into her eyse to see the pain she was in and continues to be in. I thought people were out of their minds when they felt she react properly.

The Jersey case - I am horrified by the case. And I think if employees (NOT THE VICTIMS) are coming forward saying they either knew or suspected it was going on and did nothing, then they should be punished.

Mum 21 - please don't go. I think people are just getting tired because there hasn't been any news about this case and we're all getting tired. I love your posts and I love your blog.

Assasin - I don't want you to go either. Your posts are very interesting, even if I don't always agree with them.

We have enough people who completely disagree with our viewpoints - let's not start fighting amongst ourselves.

My heart goes out to all of them. I pray God answers them and gives them their miracle.

I have seen many misunderstandings in the short time I have been blogging (so to speak) and I hope this was yet another one.

You're no shrinking violet and are probably more street wise than most of us on here.

We should not be so judgemental and sensitive to/with eachother (the regular posters)

As for telling people to leave, well, I told Dad to do so last night, as his posts were not informative, but disruptive to the debate that was taking place prior to his arrival.

If any of us want a challenge, or a row, we could go onto other well known blogs, but we choose not to. Dad was here, purely for a bit of mischief imo and if he comes back with the same attitude, I will tell him to sling his hook again.

Janegt, possibly read your posts as I did and thought you had flipped. If she really had something she wanted to say to you, she would not hold back imo, anymore than you or I would.

My heart goes out to her.

There is a Portuguese reporter, he wrote a book about Joanna and he's now writing a book on Madeleine.

Someone posted an "Open Letter to whatever his name" is and ask some pretty good questions.

Someone posted the letter on your blog as well.

Mum21,

I think you need a good laugh. Here's hot off the press (Alsabella's blog):

Rosiepops said...

Mandz

Exactly, who the hell are we that thank God has no idea what it is like to be Kate or Gerry McCann demand they show emotion for us.

What has always impressed me is kate and Gerry's dignity, despite all that has been thrown at them they have remained dignified and that has got to have been extremely hard.

Rosie, fine re mail, i still have one to return to you.

mum21 - im not in cahoots with dad [or anyone else] - far from it.

I spent a long time today before i could even go the opening the cards and stuff with the kids. On top, didnt do the usual thinking about the wee one i had who died.

All my thoughts and thinking was with Kate [and these other mothers going through the same] - and some tears for her too. I sent Kate a short message of support, but the content was more or less 'words could never express on this day for you' - I don't think they can...

Mandz said...

Poor Kate and Gerry without their baby.. Grandmother & Grandfather without their Granddaughter.. Aunts and Uncles without their niece and brother and sister without their big sister and cousins without their cousin…My thoughts and prayers are with this family.

Good night all…

Anonymous said...

Do some people really expect that this family should play out their private grief in public, like a scene out of Eastenders?
Well that speaks volumes.
They should go back to their tv screens and leave the pc screens well alone.

Perhaps this is what they are baying for. I remember reading that specialist counsellors warned K & G that they had to control their emotions, because the abductor may be watching and could derive pleasure from watching their raw grief. Well that speaks volumes about those demanding to see their pain now. They would feel some sense of pleasure.

Truly sick.

Rosiepops said...

I have read that yet another book is to be published by a Portuguese author - no doubt with inside information.

Yet another double standard we have come to expect from Portugal.

These archaic secrecy laws are clearly designed to oppress the suspect, whilst giving carte blanche to the citizens and police of that country to say/leak/publish whatever they wish, no matter how detrimental it is to those it is aimed at.

I sure would not like to get on the wrong side of that justice system, even innocently.

This alledged book, will, in my opinion, only serve to paint Portugal in an even worse light that it currently is.

Sub Judice at its best, Portuguese style.

What i would like to know is how come the McCann's are threatened with a 2 year jail sentence if they speak about this and yet Portugal allows anyone to write a book? Where do they get their information from?

perhaps the Portuguese government should order an Inquiry as to where all these leaks from the Pj are coming from and who is being paid what, because some dodgy deals are happening there to be sure!

You are trig ht this is all going to end up looking extremely bad for Portugal and the PJ.

How dare they blacken these people's characters on no evidence, gag them from defending themselves while they leak what they damn well choose and also allow these scurrilous creeps to write all the lies they can muster?

This is apparently OK, but should Kate and Gerry want to do something in order to raise money to actually keep looking for Madeline then all hell breaks loose by the creeps like Alsabelia.

for the parents this is wrong yet it is ok for any old Portuguese journo/author to make money out of Madeleine?

It is sick.

Rosiepops said...

China,

I never want to join the common Market as it was then known and I voted no in the referendum.

I do not want to be a part of something that allows countries like Portugal to join and do not ask that they bring their laws up to date with the rest of Europe!

it is about time if Portugal wants to be part of the EU then perhaps they should start acting like a modern country and not some tinpot police state, because this is what it is beginning to look like to me.

I think they are all scared of the PJ and dare not question them. I wouldn't mind if they were any good but they are not they are totally and utterly incompetent.

How can they be allowed to keep this laws? Laws that are so obviously wrong to every sensible rational person?

Anonymous said...

Rosiepops,

I agree with everything you say.

If Portugal ever had enough evidence to charge Kate and Gerry with anything (which we know they do not) and I mean charge/s that could stick, then would they really expect the rest of civilisation to believe that a fair trial would ensue?

IMO this new book is being condoned by officaldom in Portugal, as it serves their purpose and contributes to the blackening of this familys' name.

Shame on Portugal.

Secrecy when it suits, Portuguese style.

How can they possibly think the rest of the world will see them as a civilised and up to date country while they continue to behave as they do?

It is going to be full of 'sources said', questions posed as evidence and all the usual crud that is associated with conspiracy theories. I find that these types of books pretend to prove a hypothesis but then use innuendo, and more questions to prove it.

Thank goodness it will be in Portugese, so those Brits so easily influenced wont be able to read it and use it as more fodder for their vile attacks.

Let the police sort her blog out, I am sure they will be very interested in the content.

Someone went on there and ruined her blog last night, I went on and made a post because I knew I was picking up the blame, since then Supertroll and Assasin have also said she should go to the police, this is not the answers or replies she wanted so she deleted the posts.

How childish! Silly person. The reason why she deleted these posts was because she wanted everyone to think we had done this and I think that people know that despite everything we did not do this and this does not suit her agenda.

She needs to look closer to home for the culprit, I know who it is, it is glaringly obvious, but let her sort it out why should we worry?

Diane,

It is indeed, truly a disgrace, that a supposed civilised, modern country such as Portugal, promotes and condones such a book, aimed at further undermining bereft parents, who ten months after losing their daughter, have been charged with nothing and continue to do everything they can to find her.

I wonder what your average Portuguese citizen thinks about an ex detective writing such a book, with inside information from his pj mates - afterall, if it is to be portrayed as accurate, it must surely give their views and opinions?

It would not make it off the printing press over here, because it would be viewed as perverting the course of justice.

Rosiepops said...

can you believe that Portugal doesn't even have a DNA based sex offenders register? In this day and age and in 2008?

I also read some idiot said that Portugal should not have allowed the FSS to test the DNA samples! Like the FSS who has always been the sole of discretion and NEVER once leaked any story, will somehow deliberately mess with these tests?

I would like to say that perhaps Portugal should not judge our FSS by their own corrupt standards.

Anyway they couldn't do the tests they didn't know how!

But I have heard certain posters on the DX forum, say that they do not need a sex offenders register, because they do not really have problems of that nature in Portugal.

It is a case of the blind leading the blind.

If you cannot acknowledge that you have a proble, then you will not see assistance/guidance for it.

Rosiepops said...

China

I believe it is still perverting the course of justice if it came out, surely the McCann's have every right to take legal action?

If it is a book which is portrayed as some kind of factual basis then where is this Ex detective author getting his information from? It can only have come from inside, so how much as he paid for the info and to whom?

Don't tell Nome this author is the ex detective that has been made an arguido in another matter?

I cant remember exactly what for, but I do know that one of them is.

can you imagine this happening here? The author would have an injunction served on him before he wrote the title!

I do not know how she can cope and I despise the ghouls who are constantly faulting them for lack of emotion.

Surely if they had really been guilty of anything they would have shown more emotion to put people off the scent.

Yet all their efforts to stay strong and do anything to find their daughter get constantly slated. It is a very unfair world.
The whole thing is very depressing.

Rosiepops, I did reply to you earlier.

The odd portugese poster pops upon various sites, forums and they dont all agree with Alsa and her cohorts.

It probably depends upon your experience with the PJ and the legal system.

And I was on Brian's Dreams the other day (I know, I know but there are posters from everywhere on there and all support the search for Madeleine) and a portugese poster asked him to do an RV for Joanna. He came back and said she was still alive and he thinks in US. But he drew a picture of the Pia Casa emblem. Anyway, this prompted the writer to come back with a large email about how Joanna was murdered by her mother. I wont go into it here but lets just say that there is a lot more evidence than in the Madeleine case. And it really needs to be reviewed for its accuracy. But apparently according to this poster, the police didnt beat up the mother, the person she shared her gaol cell with did it and has confessed to the police. This will all come out in the court case. I was hoping that there would be some English coverage of the case.

dianeh said...

Or probably Casa Pia but hey wouldnt be the first time I have the wrong end of the stick.

Anonymous said...

Well Rosiepops,

I wonder if Alsabella will post chapter by chapter headlines of this up and coming book, to feed her frenzied piranhas and keep them all satiated?

Rosiepops said...

They do have problems of this nature in Portugal? that's a laugh how about the 700 victims of child abuse filed in Lisbon recently?

I read once that Alsabelia said it wasn't necessary that Portugal have a sex offenders register as the Pj knew where all the paedophiles were anyway!

The mind boggles!

dianeh said...

Rosie

Agree that the book will be very hard to defend legally. The McCanns should go after the author big time. Maybe that will provide the funds to search for Madeleine. After all, why not.

And questions should be asked by the Portugese govt about the sources for this book. Perhaps a parliamentary inquiry needs to be undertaken into the problems with the secrecy laws and culture of leaks and look at multiple cases, not just Joanna and Madeleine.

Anonymous said...

Diane,

Well that would be very convenient if an ex cell mate, made such an admission at this stage in the Joana proceedings, wouldn't it?

Good get out clause for the pj and all concerned. How very convenient.

Anonymous said...

Goodevening Supertroll,

Indeed, it will not steer us, your goodself and all other decent like minded people away. We need to remain focused and strong, for the sake of the McCann family, that is, after all, why we are here.

Justice for ALL the family.

Nice to see you again Supertroll

Rosiepops said...

DianeH

That Portuguese poster sounds like another that has their head in sand, do you know that the PJ themselves expect to lose this case?

I have read into this and all the evidence is at best circumstantial and the similarities with what Joana's mum and uncle were accused with is so similar to the McCann's it is absolutely eerie!
The DNA evidence in this case could have come from any of Joana's family apparently, now where have we heard this before?

apparenlty these two were tried by media before they even got to court and one of the Judges trying Leona said they wanted to go down on record as saying they thought she was innocent, so it wasn't a unanimous decision!

If Gonclao Amaral and the others are found guilty, the Leona can apply for an appeal in Portugal, if not then her lawyer has already filed Leona Cipriano's case in the Europe!

Anonymous said...

It is truly mindboggling for anyone to believe that any police force knows all paedophiles and there whereabouts and that because of same, a sex offenders register is unnecessary.

Well that person is patriotic beyond belief or comprehension.

Rosiepops said...

Hi supertroll

Nice to see you back. No we will not allow ourselves to be steered away from why we are here, we are strong and determined to help support the Mccann's in any way that we can.

dianeh said...

Rosie

The portugese poster was most emphatic about it. But then so are some others we know.

The Joanna case is a lot like Madeleine's, agreed. I have read articles for and against. So I have tried to keep an open mind but I do tend to believe that Joanna's mother is innocent and the things you have just said, except for the DNA I have read before. I didnt realise that it was an incomplete DNA match. To me, it also depends upon how much blood/tissue there was as well. (to fit in with the disposal of the body theory)

I didnt actually agree with the poster, but I did want to show how some portugese think, apart from those we constantly hear from.

Will be very interesting. Surely if the accused detectives lose the case, then it is time for a public inquiry into corruption and the workings of the PJ and their criminal legal system. As I said previously, we have a problem at the moment in Victoria with some senior officers about to go to trial for perverting the course of justice. This will most likely be followed up with some sort of inquiry to try to stop it happeneing again. That is what happens in a democratic country.

Good Morning all.
I have read the regular posters on here for many months and in my humble view, the treatment afforded to this family by the PJ leaks and smears and the consequent injustice of trial by media, has been a main motivation in interest of this case.
I am a retired gran, with plenty on in my life, with daily grandparenting responsibilities.
I have plenty of interests and no vacuum in my life that needs filling,in that respect. No need to use the Mccs as a proxy for my own agendas.
I am terribly concerned about the media treating this family unfairly and that a great injustice is being done,by these secrecy laws.
I have written many letters, to my MP,Brown, Home Office and sent support letter to the Mccanns.
If requested by the family or friends not to post, I would certainly do this, unlike the other blogs.
I can only speak for myself, typing one fingered as I do.
It might not be doing any good that we can see, but it demonstrates to me that there are good people in the world, who will not stand by to condone what is being done to these people.
It only needs people to stand by and be silent for the most horrendous consequences, as we have seen in history.
I am horrified at this book being brought out, as discussed earlier, through the eyes of the PJ.
How can it be right for this person to be writing a book before anyone charged, using inside information?
There needs to be an injunction. it is probably too .
Alsas article said it was to get back at English Police.
What the hell is going on over there ?
That seems to be the main concern over there, the country's good name and saving face.
Well,Portugal, it shows you as an immature democracy, not far from the tinpot dictatorship, you were until recently.
I have now lost all respect.

your last post is excellent and it sums up what a lot of us feel, both those with and without children can relate to what you have said. We have no vacuum in our lives, all of us lead full lives and yet somehow we cannot let this go and I believe we can't because we see a dreadful injustice being handed out to two vulnerable people and not least because the unspeakable has happened and a child has inexplicably vanished and this just should not happen and we cannot stay silent, we have to stand up and be counted.

We have to say that this is not going to be tolerated and that it doesn't matter how long it takes, the people that did this will be hunted down and will be caught and they will be punished.

Sometimes we cannot stand by and do or say nothing, it is not an option, I feel that this is one of those occasions.
I just want Kate and Gerry to realise that there are people all around them that support them and believe them and as long as they need us to be here, we will be.

Assasin

that is your opinion and you are entitled to it, however it is not mine. I believe in giving support and I will carry on doing that regardless, until such a time comes when I am asked to stop by the people concerned, who after all know much better than any of us.
Far better at the moment that these people know there are those of use who actually believe them and feel for them and support them and that the internet is not full of total scumbags whose only intention is to pour scorn and vitriol and hurt, as much as possible two vulnerable people.
we are not using Madeleine, we are seeing an injustice and upon seeing this, this is the very time to speak out and speak out we will.

I wish you well in your own quests
Assasin, I know you mean well and are passionate.
