Madeleine McCann's grandfather pleads: Don't forget about Maddie

An older article, but interesting none the less! Supplied by Mandz for the blog!

Jan 11 2008

MADELEINE McCann’s grandfather today makes a heartfelt plea for the police, public and media to refocus their attentions on “the most important story” ... the search for the missing four-year-old.

Brian Healy, 68, from Allerton, the father of Kate McCann, believes his beloved grandchild, who has not been seen for 253 days, is in danger of being overlooked amid the daily torrent of spurious stories, speculation and wild rumours.

He also said there is so much he is looking forward to doing with his first grandchild, like running through the water fountains in Liverpool’s Williamson Square. And he pays tribute to the warmhearted people of Liverpool and thanks them for their constant support and good wishes.
Brian says: “There has been so much that has been said and written, much of it untrue and hurtful, but so often it seems to me as if the only really important person in all this has been forgotten – and that’s Madeleine.

“Finding Madeleine should be at the forefront of everyone’s minds – everything else takes the attention away from this and wastes so much time.”

Kate and Gerry McCann have been the subject of much negative publicity since they were named as suspects by the Portuguese police (Polícia Judiciária) last September. Many unfounded stories have been picked up by the British press from Portuguese papers, but Brian says he was heartened to read an opinion piece which appeared in the leading Lisbon newspaper Diaro de Noticias. It was written by journalist João Miguel Tavares and published on December 11.

The columnist talked of the need for the media in Portugal to “make a serious analysis of its role in the tragedy and activate mechanisms to stop it from behaving again as a ping-pong table throwing too many lies and too little information”.

He also wrote that it was now “as likely that the case will be solved as penguins starting to fly” and referred to the “it will go away” attitude that people in Portugal have, adding: “I suppose this is now also the strategy of the detectives leading this case – let’s keep quiet and soon nobody will remember. And taking into account the way Maddie is being taken away from the papers the tactic seems good. In the PJ (Polícia Judiciária) all they dream about now is the silence of the archives.”

Brian Healy, who believes silence and inactivity are Madeleine’s greatest enemies, says: “There have been some good, positive and helpful stories written about the search for Madeleine, but it seems to be the more sensational and negative stories which get the main headlines. And there have been so many lies written. People say not to read the papers, but you can’t avoid seeing them.

“A lot of people will end up having to hang their heads in shame. I have got so mad reading some of the lies about Kate that I’ve rung up the newspapers concerned, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

“Some people don’t seem to want to know about the real Kate. She is such a warm and caring person, as well as being intelligent. But you can’t win because people say ‘He would say that, he’s her father.’ But I would love them to be able to spend just one hour in Kate’s company – and I would have loved them to have been able to spend just one hour with Kate, Gerry, Madeleine and the twins.

“For me, there is one photograph which sums up Kate’s family - it’s the black and white photograph which we have on our wall of the five of them. It’s just such a beautiful photograph and it tells its own story.”

Brian adds: “As Madeleine’s grandfather, there are so many things I long to do – for example, I’d love to be able to run through the water fountains with her in Williamson Square.”

Desperate for a breakthrough in the search for Madeleine, but frustrated at the lack of any positive news from Portugal, Brian says: “I’ve never felt so helpless in my life.”

Despite the negativity from various quarters, Brian, and Kate’s mum, Susan, have been bowled over by the response from strangers on the streets of their and Kate’s home city.

Brian says: “We want to thank everyone in Liverpool for their fantastic support and their good wishes – they have been great. We have had so many hugs from people who approach us when we’re out shopping.

“Sue was in town on Saturday and she was getting hugged all the time. These people care about Madeleine and they know what the real story is – that Madeleine has been taken and needs to be found and brought back to her family as quickly as possible.”

Just to let you know that comments are being moderated at the moment because of the posts we got yesterday from Vile's cronies.

My heart goes out to that poor heartbroken family. The attention has been taken away from Maddie the most important person is all of this due to the PJ (leaked made up stories) newspapers spreading lies about this couple.

The McCann’s were always going to be in the media because they were on a campaign to find their daughter however the PJ set off another agenda which was to spread as much lies and gossip as possible about this couple to detract the limelight away from Maddie and themselves and to sway public opinion making it easy to blame the parents.
Was she ever looked for properly by the PJ? We now have Amaral who is apparently going to Court re: another missing child case for allegedly falsifying documentation and cover up of torture. He was the head of the Maddie investigation therefore can we really trust that this man actually looked/investigated this missing child? Or did he take the easy option again blame the parents? Interesting that Portugal apparently has not a lot of child abductions and yet these two children disappear from round about the same area and the same head of both investigations (Amaral) accuses both parents of being involved in their child’s disappearance. Something very strange is going on and I hope the truth comes out and justice for both children.

Thanks Mandz for reminding us how desperately sad it is for all family members and friends of Madeleine. How brave of Madeleine's grandfather to bare his soul to the media and ask for the focus of their reports to be that of finding Madeleine. I feel that this was very hard for him to do, he comes across as a shy, quiet man.

I just hope that Alsabella's posters do not revive this on their blog. We have seen how vindictive some of the posters on there are , devoid of anything humane.

Mandz said...

Hi HelenM!
I agree he comes across very quiet to me and good on him for standing up for his granddaughter and family and for asking that the attention to be on MADDIE not the parents. He is so right the main person is being left out MADDIE.

Good morning ladies, Rosie could you ask any of your fellow bloggers if they are addressing me on either of the other 2 sites to have the courage of their convictions and show their identity as i do here now, otherwise i shall think it cowardly. Incidently calcite is posting as calcite on alsabellas blog not anon as she has said and good on her for showing it. Many thanks rosie.

SassyP said...

Isis

Ask everyone yourself. Why should Rosie ask us????

By the way, I am curious. You have been so insulting about us. Some of your comments have been shown here. You were quite reasonable on the DX, so what happened and why did you want to come here, too? To cause trouble?

isis said...

sassy my comments are just about on par with what i have read here so its much of a muchness really. I had posts from anon askink me to caome to the other side as i would be happier. If someone is going to address me personally i would request that they disclose their identity.I asked rosie as she appears to be the blog moderator. I just looked in here out of curiosity , the same reason some of you visit the other 2 blogs. I have insulted you as a group because some of you i find more unpalatable than others, the same as you percieve us.

SassyP said...

I know we didn't agree on DX, but we got on. I'm really surprised at you, frankly.

Mum21 said...

Isis. I for one have posted nothing aimed at you on any other blog. But having read some of your comments aimed at us I was very shocked indeed. You seem to get great satisfaction out of belittling people...namely us.. to make yourself look big and one of them. You are not in the same league as 2345 and Viv...and never could be.
So please...do not try to be something you are not.
Perhaps you would be better employed by giving some of the blogs a miss and sticking to the piano.

isis said...

sassy i dont take issue with you personally .our views differ. However i have read back over the posts on here from last night and ir you think viv and alsabellas sites are vitriolic and abusive .just read back on some of the posts here. I can assure you this is my first time posting here, there was an inference made last evening that mabey i was the anon, or as christabel so charmingly put it "that crappy isis" . People in glasshouses sassy.

isis said...

Jane gt , if your reading later i see you were asking why i called you dougal. Its because i thought you liked father ted as a sitco. im sorry if you took offence there was certainly none ment.

isis said...

mum, as i said in reply to an anon post directed at me that my veiws are my own , as you have not directed a personal insult at me neither have i at you. Both sets here are as good at throwing insults as a collective group as are the others. Just as you were surprised at me i was surprised at your avatar with the wording on it. I dont want to take up any more time arguing over insults or such and will leave you all to get on with your debate as madeleine is the important one here. I will never post as anon here,if i post i will post under the name i always use. Goodbye mum i doubt we will "speak" again, off to tinkle the ivories for a while!!

Isis. That letter that Alsabella wrote to Mrs Healy was a disgrace to the human race. It was arrogant beyond belief. It had no thought of the suffering Mrs Healy is going through...and was only intent on adding to it
and putting her point across.
What right did Alsabella have to compose a letter like that to a woman that is aready suffering beyond anything we can imagine. Then stick it on her blog for the world to see.
Then to have the gall to ask her not to think badly of her if she was wrong....was an insult.
Not a nice person Alsabella. She has shown her true colours this time.

SassyP said...

I do indeed think Vile's blog is abusive and sick. From day one it has all been primarily about Rosie, but also about other posters she didn't agree with. I have been to site about twice - it was like going to some sort of psycho hell, so didn't go back.

Personally, I have never had much of a problem with Alsabella - I don't agree with her and I think she can be sneaky, but it has never really got nasty between us. I have seen her blog, but haven't been inspired enough to post there and won't be rushing back - especially as Clawdia tends to hang about there spitting venom.

SassyP said...

Mum21, completely agree with you abut that letter - it was disgusting.

dianeh said...

If you and the other anti's (particularly the rabid and lets face it borderline psychotics, dont like what is said on this blog, then stay off it. Dont read it. Deete your link. I have once been and read the 3 arguidos and never have I read such a bunch of self serving crap being served up under the guise of evidence and inside knowledge.
As a late comer to this whole blogging/posting thing, I can honestly say that I have been appalled at the writings of some anti's and the vitriol which spews forth far outshines anything the pro's ever write.
You see, we dont want to debate ridiculous accusations that have no merit. Simple as that. Making things up and trying to pass them off as the truth (and note, I dont include you in that because quite frankly I cant even remember what you have posted) isnt the type of thing that I personally want to debate.

Mum21 said...

SassyP...yes it was disgusting and beyond forgivness. Mrs Healy has the heartache of not knowing what happened to her grandaughter added to the heartache of watching her daughter going through a life of hell.
If Alsabella cannot find in her heart compassion for Kate...at least I would have thought she could have found it for Kate's mother.

isis said...

no personal insults at me mum
Mum21 said...
SassyP..I would not bother with Isis....because she is being very two faced. Here is her latest posting on Alsabella's blog

And on topic,

I feel sorry for the whole family, not just grandad. Every time they read any of the rubbish being printed, it must be like a knife going through their heart.
I know how I would feel if it were being said about one of my brothers. (I dont have any sisters).
And all of this because as a family they chose to not give up and keep searching for Madeleine. I am glad that the McCanns are strong enough to ignore the accusations and hate, and continue to hunt for that beautiful little girl.

dianeh said...

Mum, Sassy

what letter did Alsabella write and why would she write to Mrs Healey.

I thought alsabella was better than that. If she has sent some sort of venomous letter to Mrs Healey than she should hang her head with shame.

Rosiepops said...

Morning ladies OOoooops sorry, your resident idiot is here after dropping my mouse in my muesli this morning to add to my oops last night.

Mum21 said...

Isis. That was not insulting..it was true. You were being twofaced..as you are being now.
As has already been mentioned...if you don't like it here you are free to leave.
I read several of your comments on Alsabella's blog and Viv's yesterday...and they were not nice at all. But I did not bother to respond to them because I felt it better to ignore them.
May I suggest you do the same.

dianeh said...

Hi Rosie

Hope you are well.

Also same to Sassy, Mum, Mandz and anyone else on here.

Do we know for certain what happened at the DX? I can understand stopping the posts by why hide all the articles. Very strange.

Rosiepops said...

Isis,

I answered Alsabelia, if you want to have a go at anyone, try me.

I wrote that reply as anonymous because I knew that alsabelia would not let it be there if it was under my name, turns out that free speech on there isn't so free huh?

I meant every bot of it and retract nothing.

Talking about showing people in their true colours, Isis you have three different opinions I note according to where you posts, even Vile only has one totally obnoxious, but only one, perhapses you should try it?

Mum21 said...

Dianeh. You will find the letter Alsabella wrote to Mrs Healy on her blog. It is that letter that has caused so much bad feeling again. You will find it on the front page of her blog if you scroll down a little.

SassyP said...

Hiya Dianeh

Alsabella wrote a letter to Mrs Healy saying something like "We are all being 'orrible to your daughter because we believe she did something 'orrible to her daughter. If we're wrong, don't think badly of us for making the family's life even more miserable over the last few months, as it is all in Madeleine's name."

Apparently, someone actually delivered the letter, too! Such charming people!

isis said...

rosie , personally i wish you no ill. I am genuinely upset at the number of times my name has been mentioned on your blog in such a nasty way, and by people i never attacked personally, so if youer intention was to upset and hurt then game set and match, as mum says mabey i should stick to the piano.Mum21 said...

Morning Rosie.
And what a brilliant job you made of answering Alsabella.

Rosiepops said...

now my Hotmail account is down!

Rosiepops said...

Well how are we all this morning? I have a mental image of poor Sassy leaning over her desk exhausted.

Sassy I sorted my avatar thingy out it was due to a box coming up after each post asking me if I want to display secure and non secure items, can I disable this on here?

Rosiepops said...

Thanks mum and I retract absolutely nothing.

Since I opined the DE last September I have sat on my hands with Alsabelia. I tried not to let her get to me, even when her slyness over her 6 known IDs emerged, I tried to let that go, despite the abuse I have taken from them.

However, that nasty unpleasant and totally arrogant letter was just too much, if Mrs Healy has that letter, Alsabelia better start praying hard, that the poor woman does nothing about it.

dianeh said...

You're kidding me. No, I know you are not.

And I just went to Alsabella's site and I can say that I am not even going to look for the letter. I had no idea that she posted such rubbish and since she does, I have no doubt the letter exists. Will never go to that again, the evil was seeping out of my screen.

Oh dear, Alsabella is as I had previously thought but wasnt sure, one of those internet loonies (isnt that what they were named after the PR/Press seminar that Clarence held a while back), who cant seem to get passed the child abuse allegations. Seems if guilty of that, must be guilty of everything else.

But let me say this, I doubt very much that the McCanns would stoop to sending a venemous letter to a family in pain and hurting. Who is that is really lacking humanity? The McCanns who made a mistake (that is what I think of it as) or Alsabella who deliberately plans who she is going to hurt. Alsabella if you wander by and read this, you really are not working for the side of good here. No matter what you try to tell yourself, you are only causing harm to many people who do not deserve it, such as Mrs Healy and the twins, and Grandad. Why not try looking for the truly evil child abusers and even the poor unfortunates who dont even know how to look after children, and help them. At least that would be useful.

Sorry guys, you have probably heard it all before.

Rosiepops said...

Hi DianeH

I think it is because of the totally libellous comment of some of the posts on there towards the McCann's and their family, one only has to read that disgusting letter by Alsabelia and think that this was mild compared to some of things i have seen written on there.
Apparently the DE have just settled out of court on another libellous comment they printed the other week accord to melbel.

Rosiepops said...

sassy hotmail is playing about this morning, so oepning anything is taking ages. It may clear soo.

dianeh said...

Ok went and read the letter.

Truly shameful. What gives her, or anyone else the moral superiority to make judgements that what they want is more important than the needs of the McCanns and their children.

I dont have the words at my disposal to show my utter contempt for that letter (and lets face it the entire blog).

More self serving crap from someone lacking in common decency but imagines herself to be superior to those who disagree with her. She probably feels sorry for us because she thinks we have been duped. We will be proved wrong in the end, of that she has no doubt.

Wrong, because we believe in innocent until proven guilty, compassion and that one mistake doesnt make parents incapable of looking after their children. If it did, there would be many kids living in foster homes because they would be taken from their parents. Wrong, because sadly abductions do happen and we believe that this is what happened to Madeleine.

dianeh said...

Sassy/Rosie

I am sitting here, still stunned over the letter.

And while on her website, also noticed them all having a go at the person in Dorset who made the new sighting. I only hope that witnesses continue to come forward and ignore everything. Imagine what it would be like trying to find missing children without the assistance of the public. Oh, dont have to imagine, seen it happen in Portugal, last May, June, July etc, etc.

Rosiepops said...

Diane,

I literally blew a fuse when I read that letter and then when I read that there was a possibility that it had got delivered to Mrs Healy I lost it. What gives that smug disingenuous, devious woman the right to write such a thing? I am still incredibly angry about it. As if that poor family hasn't enough to contend with, how dare A;sabelia Di? just how dare she? In the name of all that is humane and decent, how dare she think it was ok for her to use Madeleine in such a way to gain praise from the people that post on her site? because at the end of the day this is what that letter was written for and it stinks and I hope you read this Alsabelia.

be in no doubt about what i think of you.

Hi Rosiepops, justed posted this under the gossip, pasted it from Alsabella's blog:

Dorset Echo

Police play down Madeleine sighting

DORSET Police are playing down an alleged sighting of missing Madeleine McCann in the county.

Alan Cameron, a retired civil servant, claims the toddler turned up at his house in Stratton, three miles north-west of Dorchester.

Sunday newspapers reported the child matching Madeleine's description arrived in the care of a Portuguese couple, who had come to buy some garden furniture advertised locally.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We are grateful for the call but there is nothing at this time to suggest this is the missing girl.

"Enquiries are continuing to finalise this."

I didnt think there was anythin wrong with posting on all 3 and didnt realise there was an exclusitivity clause .At least i post under my name. There are those on rosies who openly brag as to posting as anon. I am truly hurt and upset. I dont usually cry but today is an exception. As MUM 21 says mabey i should stick to the piano.

Helen,

Of course it is probably true, but this man was 100% correct to report what he thought he saw, if more people did this then more tragedies could be averted.

Again this poor man who is a retired man has been the subject of abuse and ridicule because he dared to report something these antis did not want to hear.

How does this bode for future witnesses to any crime to come forward?

if he saw this and did not report it and it turned out to be something, I have no doubt that these same people would hurl abuse at him then too.

Seems all these antis are good at is hurling abuse!

who the heck is dyl? never heard of them!

Isis

yes it was put to the vote, this is a democratic decision as each person who blogs here has equal rights, no one is better than the other.

Isis, I was one of the ones that thought it was OK for you to join here, until it was pointed out how you appear to change your comment according to the blog you are writing on. I hadn't noticed because contrary to popular opinion with you people, I spare very little of my time looking in at your words on other sites, in fact I only visited Alsabelia's site three times and may look in again and I may not.

But I have to say that I was dismayed and really disappointed in you when I read someof the things you had actually written about me, why Isis? What have I ever done or said to you to warrant the unpleasant things you said about me on Vile's blog?
Dry your eyes Isis and get things into perspective, this is a blog, harsh things are said, I know I have been on the receiving end of them, what is it you currently call me on the vile ones blog? Psychopops? Good job I do not cry about all the unpleasant things that you and others have said about me or I would be in tears all the time.

How would you like to be called a paedophile? a Terrorist? A miserable bitch? How would you like to be accused of bullying your family and killing your pet dog, especially when I just had to put my beloved old boy down?
This and loads more has been written about me on the blog you write on Isis and i have seen you join in, I went and read quite a bit of it yesterday and I was shocked, but then I came here to my friends who support me, nice people, who say some hard things sometimes but they are never that bad, certainly not like on Vile's.

I hate to think of anyone upset, but Isis look at the blog you post on, personally i would not have my name on such a dreadful cold and inhumane place. The malevolence of that blog surpasses the screen and it is not nice.

isis said...

thanks rosie, eyes dry and mind clear now.

I have my opinions, you and others may disagree with them, I know others do on here disagree with me on a few things, but that is OK, it is allowed, but I do not change those opinions, they are mine and rigt or wrong, but people here and you Isis, you know where I stand and this is what I like about the people that post here, I know where each one of them stands and they do not chop and change.

That letter of Alsabelia's caused a lot of upset yesterday.

Isis, put yourself into Mrs Healy's position and you stood there and opened and read that letter and if you were still standing and not on knees totally bereft and sobbing your heart out at the end of it and then read,

"Mrs Healy. And if we are wrong, do not wish us ill. Know we did not wish to make your family suffer, but instead to protect the most vulnerable member of that family and make sure that justice is done for her."

You tell me honestly what you would feel like?

well said, my sentiments exactly!

Isis,
I just read Brian healy's story which Mandz supplied for us this morning, if you haven't already, have a read of it. Very touching and very human.

Madeleine McCann's grandfather pleads: Don't forget about Maddie

And they accuse us of being nasty.

Isis

Take no notice. Do you really want to part of that horrid, nasty little schoolgirl gang of thugs anyway? Led by the master little thug from the Southside (you can take the boy out of Govenhill, as they say....) Take no notice. Or look on it as a rite of passage! We've all been there. Keep posting here!

Thanks Mum, I didnt realise. So playing one off against the other then. Oh well, some people you just cant help.

See you all later,

You are very sad people. Why are you picking on the poster Isis because she does not agree with your views. You are all shameful. You pretend to be kind people worrying about Mrs Healy, yet you write the most nasty, vile comments on your site. Perhaps before you tell others they are evil you should look at yourselves in the mirror and see what you have become. All the bad energy on this site is incredible. What goes around, comes around.

Rosiepops said...

Anonymous,

exactly who picked on Isis? Or did you come on here looking for a fight and found nothing? Probably.

Anyway like Isis you are welcome to post here, just keep the opinions polite and not a problem.

Mum21 said...

Rosie. I think it is time you paid Alsabella's blog another visit. There are a lot of nasty comments being put up about you and our blog. Here is one of them.

ratonthebeam said...
Poppy

The Trolls had a "secret" blog, which mainly consisted of six of them posting to each other, applauding each other like performing seals and trashing anyone else who doesn't agree with their perverted simpering to anything and everything McCann.

They went to great trouble setting up an elaborate network on the ex-DX forum to get the others to sign up to their "secret" blog in case any of us nasty Antis infiltrated it (as if we would actually be bothered, like.)

All went well until the Chief Performing Seal inadvertently posted a hyperlink to it on Viv's site! And now everyone can see them for what they really are, toilet-mouthed foul language and all.

And this is Team McCanns best effort?!

As Claudia says, it's the best belly laugh we've all had in ages.

I am being polite. I am just giving you my opinion on your site. I also feel for the McCann family and was quite happy when I found this blog. However, you seem to spend your time badmouthing other blogs and their content rather than focus on your own. What disappointment that there is no blog where the truly concerned can voice their opinion.

Mum21 said...

Anonymous,

I think you are on the wrong blog when you start accusing. Or do you turn a blind eye to insults on other blogs?
I call that selective vision.

Mum21 said...

Anonymous,
Just read the comment I left just above yours. Posted by Rat on Alsabella's blog.

That is nice and polite is it?

Anonymous said...

I do not bother with the other blogs, I do not see myself in them. I thought I could have a place on this one because it says it wants justice for all the McCann family.
However, this blog does not seem to really be about the McCann family and rather about other bloggers. That is a shame because I am sure I am not alone in wanting to talk about the McCanns and their terrible ordeal without having to be mean to others. I do not care about other people's opinions and would like a nice place where I could voice my own. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the place.

Rosiepops said...

Mum

I will have a look they got it wrong about the six posters for a start (jealousy creeping in there I think)
This blog has grown so quickly seeing as it has only been up and running properly for a few days!

We had around 450 posts yesterday!

Anonymous, if you want to debate no matter what your opinions, you are in the right place, but if you want to fight, you are not.

You mention the unpleasantness of these blogs, but right now you are the one that is causing it? see the hypocrisy?

Mandz said...

For crying out loud isis you cannot compare our blog to the other two sick disturbing blogs?

We are very clam respectful and polite to one another. We don’t all agree but we have the ability to debate, rationalise, show compassion and sympathise with others in need like poor Mrs Healey, Maddie and her family therefore our blogs are worlds apart.

We have Maddie and her family on our minds which the other blogs do not. They fight amongst themselves about whose made up “theory” is right and the disturbing thing is they are lying to themselves because they know this is rubbish. They get off on this tragedy for their sick pleasure.

Who in there right mind would send an elderly, heartbroken, devastated, stressed out woman whose grandchild has been taken a sick letter? Come on who? Do you agree with sending this letter isis? If not have the balls to tell Alsabollocks & if you do you are just as bad and should stay on the other two hellsblogs.

Ps when you speak to alsabollocks tell her the heartless PJ should have received my email and letter and their government (useless bunch of clowns however clowns can get their act together therefore I should not insult clowns). Apologies to any clowns.

Mum21 said...

Anonymous,

Ok..you start the ball rolling.
Let us see some serious debate going on in defense of of innocent until proven guilty.
What is your opinion on the article Mandz so kindly posted on here?

Anonymous said...

Rosiepops, why are you saying that I am being unpleasant? I am merely giving you my opinion based on what I am reading. I know the truth sometimes hurts but I am not saying this to be nasty. I would like to find a pleasant place to post. That's all.

Anonymous said...

mum21

Thank you. Something I always had a problem with was why the twins were not tested immediately by the police on May 3rd. If they had been, we might know if some drug had been administered to them and through it perhaps find the abductor?

Rosiepops said...

Hi Mandz and Mum

that was an excellent article, I had not read it before. You could almost feel the emotion coming from the man. I note he hasn't been in the news much, this is because I believe he is in poor health.
I simply do not want to think about the damage that letter could have done him or his health, this is why I got so cross yesterday.

I note Mr Healy made a plea to the Portuguese press which has gone completely unheeded.

I wish all this could be over for that family and their suffering brought to an end. Suffering which I may add has been endured with the utmost dignity by all of this family.

Rosiepops said...

I am not saying you are being unpleasant, Ionly said that it is you that was continuing the argument whereby others were willing to let it go, so shall we let this drop now?

Have you anything to add to the story about Mr Healy? he is in poor health, can you begin to imagine the harm that letter may have done to him?

Rosiepops said...

Anon

Gerry did want the twins tested for signs of sedative, the PJ didn't think this was necessary.

This is another one of those grey areas, where no one knows exactly what was said and until we hear the McCann's side of the story, we are not going to know for certain what was said. but I do know that Gery said he was concerned about how the twins had managed to sleep through all the commotion.

If you want to post using a name instead of anon (you may get confused with other anons) you are welcome to use the Name/URL facility and write any old name you want to be known by on here, no need to worry, you email is not known to any of us on here, it just gets registered as a no-reply email, so you still remain anonymous. (Only if you want to, no pressure)

Mandz said...

Thank you - Absolutely heartbreaking Rosie. That poor man I really feel for him and his family however not surprised it has fallen of deaf ears. The newspapers should hang their heads in shame because they are making lots of money out of that little girl & family.
As for the letter Mrs Healy will put it in the bin where it belongs and I’m sending her a letter of support.

Anonymous said...

Rosiepops, I have a feeling Mr Healy has unfortunately read much worse than that letter you have mentioned. He seems like a wonderful, caring person, and I feel very much for him. I am glad our press has calmed down with the articles and rubbish they were publishing. Hope the Portuguese press does the same.

Mum21 said...

Anony.
I think there were many things missed by the PJ that night. If only they had as you said tested the twins we would not have had all the drug accusations against the parents. Also had they sealed off the apartment straight away any evidence found may have been more conclusive.

Rosiepops said...

Anon and Mandz,

i wish I could be so sure that a letter like that would not do lasting damage, but people who are frail, something like this can be catastrophic to them. I expect you are right though, I guess other unpleasant letters have been sent, one can only hope that little damage was done to those people.

Good idea Mandz, I too will send a letter of support to them. Out of all themoney the press have made out of this child, I wonder how much they have donated to the fund to help with actually finding her.?

minxy said...

It is incredibly odd that the police would not test the remaining children. Perhaps they would have found a clue had they done so. I wonder how many abductions they have over there that they would not think of something so basic.

(Rosiepops, thanks. I am anonymous)

Mum21 said...

Anony. I am also pleased the press have quietened down regards this case. After all very few of the articles were confirmed as true...but just press spin.
I am patiently waiting for the PJ to arrive to question further. But I feel I could have a long wait.

Rosiepops said...

Minxy,

I wish they had tested the children too, there could have been a major clue there, now lost forever. I suppose in the PJ's defense, they have not dealt with that many of these cases and this was an extraordinary case. But I would still expect them to have a set procedure for things like this and to use some common sense.

If you were a PJ, there was a lot of commotion going on and yet these children still asleep, would you think it odd? I would, even though I do know that some children can and frequently do sleep through anything!

Mandz said...

I’m sure Mrs Healy will have received thousands of nice letters. She will be aware and will have been advised that there are some disturbed people out there who will send her rubbish. If anything she will probably feel sorry for them! What nice people we have in Britain who will hug a heartbroken grandmother it makes me very proud to be British.

Like mum when I have been abused and fought back I have been attacked by you antis and called a bully, it is ridiculous, I was supposed to take it all and not give it back. Mum is just the same.

Hi Rosiepops, don't fret that the anti's have found the blog, we knew it would happen sooner rather than later.

Any of you know about cadaver dogs? The ususal charming Hope4you replied to one of my posts to say that Madeleine was dead before 8p.m. that concludes that it was either Kate or Gerry Mccann who 'killed' her accidently or otherwise. Apparently he?she says that the scent of death has to have been there for 2 hours otherwise the dogs would not have been able to smell it.

This is all based on the assumption that Madeleine is no longer alive.
